Who I am
I’m Tayaza Fadason, a technologist and scientist based in Auckland. My path runs from Nigeria to the UK to New Zealand, and from DNA to data and AI platforms. Each step taught me the same thing: the hardest problems are human, not technical. People keep data in emails, group chats, notebooks and memory. Trust lives in relationships. My job is to turn that mess into products that are clear, fair and easy to trust.
Today I lead technology at Together in New Zealand, and I’m building Saving Mates, a simple ledger for savings groups.
What I build
AI and data products. I design agentic systems, data platforms and software that turn scattered information into decisions people can rely on.
Trustworthy group-finance tools. Savings circles such as ajo, esusu, stokvel, chama and other ROSCAs move real money on goodwill. I build software that keeps them transparent without taking away the human part.
Bridges between cultures and disciplines. I’m fluent in New Zealand and African contexts, and in research and product. I translate between them.
Saving Mates
Saving Mates is a group-savings ledger for people who save together, whether that’s an ajo in Nigeria, an esusu in London or a stokvel in Johannesburg. It gives every member the same clear view of who has paid, who’s next and what’s owed, so the group can spend less energy on bookkeeping and more on each other.
I built Saving Mates because I grew up around these circles. They work, but the record-keeping is fragile.
